Anybody Know Any Good Inspirational Books? Ever Read into Thin Air? Military Stories?

I'm just going book shopping tomorrow and i was curious if anybody knew of any good inspirational, non-fiction books. my friend was actually telling me of a magazine article he read of an american WW2 pilot who was about to crash over the english channel and an SS pilot directed him to England and saved his life. the two later met up in life as well. he has a lot of inspirational military history books like Reach For The Sky by Paul Brickhill and gave me a few names. ontop of this, i also remember reading Into Thin Air by Jon Krakaeur, a story of survival atop mt everest.
Also, a really REALLY good book that i loved was The Things They Carried by Tim O' Brien, a personal account of his life during the vietnam war. any and all stories similar to that and the vietnam war would be great (also im getiing Vietnam in HD from the history channel )
