Expecting Success and Getting It

One of the most important beliefs I have ever learned and one that all my mentors and almost all successful people in the world have mastered is the belief of expecting success. What I would typically do before learning this very powerful belief was what everyone else does.

I would become interested in a new endeavor and decide to get started on mastering that certain area. I would be really excited and pumped up and would literally spend hours at a time in the beginning couple of days / weeks. However as time went on I would feel that I was no longer progressing in this area as fast as I did in the beginning, this is of course a very natural tendency as you usually progress immensely in the beginning and slow a little down the further you get. Even though I knew this logically I simply couldn’t comprehend it emotionally at the time.

This would start a pattern of not very constructive thoughts and I would always be left with a sense of being confused. I would start questioning if the path I had chosen was actually the right one and whether I should have chosen something different to spend my time on. Once you reach this point you have greatly minimized your chances of success and you will usually see that you will switch to something else within a matter of weeks. This is due to the fact that we as humans love certainty and dislike uncertainty, as soon as something is uncertain we don’t feel it is worth our time as we want to have guaranteed results!

First of all start realizing that there is no such thing in life as guaranteed results. Your results are completely based on your own efforts and willingness to take action and put in the time necessary.

When you have the belief of expecting success you will never have this problem again. With this belief you will no longer question if this is the right path for you or whether you can ever become an expert in this area of your life. Instead, you will ask a series of very powerful and empowering questions, questions like: “I wonder when I become successful in this area of my life”, “How much of an expert will I become in this area”. With these questions it is no longer a matter of whether you will reach success or not, instead you are just wondering when you will reach the success level you are looking for. Commit yourself to start using this belief from today and you will start seeing some great results within a very short time.
