Sound familiar? I read an article once which really struck me and I remember the very last line almost every time someone complains about their lives, their routine, or their ‘bad luck’. Just remember this, ‘if you keep on doing what you always do, you’ll keep on getting what you always get’! Makes sense doesn’t it. So, if you want something different from your life, you’ll have to change the way you go about it.
Why not try this for starters. Instead of, when saying your resolutions to yourself say ‘I will do something’, for example stop smoking; get fitter; make more money; lose weight; you could try saying ‘I promise’ to do those things. If you think about it, a promise is meant to be kept, so if you ‘promise’ yourself to lose weight, or whatever else you want to do, you’re more likely to stick to it and make it happen.
It’s important that your goals are achievable, and while you need to aim high, don’t put your goals so far out of reach that you’re never going to manage them and can only fail. There’s no use promising yourself to earn an extra 1000 per month if that really is not achievable, maybe if you promise yourself to earn a couple of hundred extra, that would be a more realistic goal. So, good luck with your promises, and remember, to change what you get, first you must change what you do.
