God wants us to do things His way because He has a plan for our lives that is more wonderful than we can imagine. When He says that His ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts higher than our thoughts, He is saying that His plans, what He wishes for us, are more magnificent than we can even comprehend.
These plans that God has for us can only come about when we do things Gods way; in other words, we have to operate according to His Word. For us to operate according to His Word we have to first have an understanding of His Word; in other words, how God operates.
One of the primary spiritual laws set forth by God has to do with words, and it is a law unknown to many in the Christian faith. It is a spiritual truth, or law, that what comes out of our mouth will directly affect our life. This spiritual truth is precisely the reason God wants us to know His ways of operating; so that we can operate in the same fashion as He does and He can then work with what we say to cause the words we speak to come to pass.
How does God speak? What kinds of words does He proclaim on our behalf? “Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.” Froward in the Hebrew means contrary, stubborn, or disobedient. In this verse of scripture from Proverbs we find evidence that God only speaks truth and right things. There are no contrary, stubborn, or disobedient words coming from the mouth of God; there should be none coming from ours either. Notice God declares that we should “hear” that verse of Scripture? He is telling us to understand it and make the concept of what He is teaching an everyday part of our life.
It is time to discontinue the thoughts and words coming out of our mouth that continually line up with doom, gloom, and defeat. If we are to line up with Gods word then our words have to line up with His. Our words then have to be those that proclaim excellent and true things; those things in Gods Word that claim us as more than over-comers and having all of our needs met through the finished work of Jesus Christ and Calvary.
