This is what happened to me during the worst storm in France in the last 30 years. This storm caused almost 60 deaths, several people are still missing, and thousands are homeless.
More than 1 million families were without electricity.
When I went to bed that Sunday morning, February 28, the light was flickering, and it was storming furiously outside.
Five minutes later the currency was cut, and we were in the dark. Since we live far out in the country-site, our only energy source is electricity. This means that our oven, our kitchen range, our light, our persiennes, and our heating all depended on electricity.
No power – no heat, and we were in the dark.
When we got up later Sunday morning, we expected the power to come back soon. We had no idea about how serious the situation was, since we couldn’t hear radio or check the Internet.
But the power didn’t come back, so we had to find some candles and our board games. We were freezing, but we had fun.
Monday, still no power. We went to a supermarket nearby, and got a bit of heat there, but they didn’t have kitchen ranges, which could use gas, so we still couldn’t cook, or get a cup of warm tea or coffee. Although we kept our spirits high, we were tired because of the darkness and the cold. We kept hoping for the power to come back. But nothing happened.
Tuesday morning came, still without the return of the power. We had headaches, which might have been caused by bad sleeping because of the cold. So we decided to drive for an hour to a big supermarket to get a telephone that would work without electricity, and a heater, if possible, and at least some more light and a kitchen range for gas.
When we came home after the long ride in a warm car, we felt better, and we could now brew some coffee and tea to keep us warm. We could call the power company, and we learned that the electricity would be back online the day after. Now we didn’t have to wait and hope anymore. We had certainty.
So we went back to our board game, and one hour later, the miracle happened. We had electricity again. There were light everywhere, and the heat started working.
So what lesson can be learned from my experience?
First of all, you must have a goal. Define it as clearly as possible. Our goal was to get the electricity back on.
Then you have to take action. We went out to buy light, and we made sure to feel positive about our situation.
Visualization helps. We visualized the electricity coming back, the sounds from the electric clocks, etc.
Finally, you must feel certain about reaching your goal.
At first, we only hoped the electricity would return. Only when we knew with absolute certainty that we would get the power back the day after, we actually got it only one hour later.
Certainty is probable the most important part of the Law of Attraction, and this is where you have to look, if you don’t reach your goals. How certain are you of obtaining them?
