1) Constantly set and re-evaluate goals. Life is not a straight line. There are many detours and corners we have to pass through, and by adjusting to the present situation, you are highly likely to achieve them. That does not mean changing your goal frequently, but adjusting it accordingly.
2) Be watchful to whom you surround yourself with. If you want to stay positive, it makes sense to surround yourself with positive people. Now, we are definitely not birds, but birds have been smarter, because they choose to flock with the same feather. Learn from that.
3) Expand your view of life. The world is not made only by one continent or one race. There are hundreds, and thousands other who we can learn a lot from. If you have been locking yourself away all these years, probably it is best to pack that backpack, and go out. Look all the other things life has to offer you.
4) Remember to reward yourself constantly. The purpose of rewarding yourself is to reinforce the quality you want, once you have gained it. It does not have to be something extraordinary, just simple but meaningful things will do. Your aim is not the reward; it is the quality.
5) Do not be afraid to contribute. There is a funny side of the law of Nature. Actually, the more you give and share, the more you will get in reciprocity. You will never run out of things that you share, for example, knowledge. The more you share, the more you will get, and it keeps trickling in.
6) Take good care of your health. Some of us go to the extreme as making the body as temple, and they really worship it. You probably do not want to go to such extreme, because by living moderately, eating sensibly and regular exercise, like walking, is enough to take care of it.
