Ten Steps Toward a Happier You

1. Devote some time each day to doing something you love.

2. Get enough sleep, sleep is VERY important!

3. Exercise at least a few times each week. Not only will you be happier, but you will look better and feel more energized.

4. Take some time out to remove the stresses from your life… you know those annoying things like laundry, cleaning, organizing and fixing broken stuff. Get your to-do list done so you can relax!

5. Cut back on your TV time. Go for a walk and spend quality time with your family instead of watching television at night and use the extra time to keep yourself on top of that to-do list so your life can be more stress free.

6. Eat healthy, nutritious foods.

7. Cut back on the amount of negativity you ingest during the day. Turn off the news, watch funny movies instead of depressing ones and even control what you see on the internet. Many internet home pages are now customizable so you can control what appears there.

8. Spend more time with the people you love. Play with your children and pets and have more meaningful conversations with your adult family members.

9. Plan fun things for your future.

10. Take a closer look at your relationships, career, living situation and health. See how each area could be improved and then figure out a plan to make that happen.

Remember that if you aren’t happy, you can’t make anyone else around you happy either. You are responsible for your own happiness – take care of yourself and you will have much more of yourself to offer to those you love and care about.
