in myself the motivation comes from wanting to share the knowledge i feel i possess, as someone fairly uneducated but with alot of life experience i like having the opportunity to share.
however i have found this to be a fairly aggressive and judgemental place and it seems to me that some people are only motivated by the desire to have a go at strangers, rain abuse upon people they dont need to face and generally make themselves feel better by being awful.
what are other peoples reasons?

Suggestion:
Yahoo answers allows me to do two things that i love; write and opionionate. And whereas most forums my posts are drowned out by a flood of others doing the same thing, here my posts tend to stick out a little bit more. Also, a lot of people are kind of retarded when it comes to writing and arguing so it just makes me look even better. I don't know who exactly I'm trying to impress, but I have an instinctual urge to show off online. Maybe it's because I have a crappy job and no spectacular talents outside of hunching over my keyboard and rambling away, but it is what it is and I am who I am.
