I would really like to rent out a room provided by an elderly or elderly couple. I've heard of other students doing this before, but I'm not sure where to start looking. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could find such rooms to rent?

Your local senior center should have a bulletin board with wanted/for sale etc posts. Look there or post your own request.

An elderly couple may or may not want to rent to you. If you play loud music, have overnight guests, drink, smoke weed, park on the grass, don't clean up, older people will not rent to you.
Why do you want to rent a room from an older couple? Planning to steal something?
According to where you live, you should check with the state department of Human Services and even the churches have registries of services. You should pray and ask God for His help as well. Peace!
You are 21 and don't know enough to buy a newspaper? Instead you're not only asking the world, but asking through the senior citizens about Knoxville. I don't think you're bright enough to live apart from your mommie.
Check with student services on campus.
Look in your local newspaper under "Rooms for Rent"
