What is "depression" and What Can We Do About It?

Depression is a word that is used to describe a way of feeling.

I wish I could say that I know about depression from a book but that would not be accurate. I really learned about depression from experience. It feels good to be able to write about it now from a place of deep knowing. First of all lets talk about what depression feels like. Depression is the lowest of all emotions. It is a powerless feeling, that resembles despair, grief, hopelessness, sadness. It is a suffocating feeling, like you can hardly breathe. Just think of someone walking down the street dragging themselves and looking listless. This is the face of depression. It is a state of having little energy.

It is normal to attempt to feel good even in the midst of depression. Why? Because a persons true state is happiness, joy and love. And so of course when one feels so far from this state there is a constant sense of inner discord because we know that something is amiss. Something is not right. Quite a few years back I experienced a depression after the death of my husband. It seemed to come on fast and furious. He died and I felt bad and then worse for a long period of time, several years in fact. And it progressed into what they call depression with suicidal idealization.

I am and was then, a trained psychologist and despite many efforts I had no idea what to do about it. I tried everything I knew including seeing a psychiatrist for quite a few years. She was considered one of the best in my city. Some of the symptoms I and others experience during depression are: not being able to sleep, confused thinking, feeling guilt, low confidence level, agitation, tiredness, losing or gaining excessive weight, crying often, loss of interest in work or normal everyday activities, not being able to make decisions, losing touch with friends etc. I was on anti-depressants and sleeping medication the entire time. Depression is so common that there are traces of anti-depressant medication in our water. Whatever the body does not use, gets urinated out. Yikes!

Anti-depressant medication has many side effects including numbing our emotions. With medication, a depressed person, may not feel quite so bad, but one also loses the ability to feel positive emotions either. Medication literally medicates emotion. Because of my training as a psychologist, I have access to the book that describes all of the medications, including all anti-depressants. This book discusses the medication benefits in a paragraph or so and then the side-effects. There are so many possible side effect that it usually take several pages to discuss.

There is so much depression that the mental health field has given names to the different levels of depression. One can have dysthymia, a name of a low level depression to a the higher levels of depression called suicidal depression and psychosis.

Treatments for depression range from medication to therapy to electric shock treatment. Many people use all of these methods.

Depression can and does have huge impacts on families. In my case, not only did my children lose their father to death, they lost their mother. It was a confusing and very difficult time for them and that is an understatement.

Today I am healthier and happier than ever in my lifetime for several reasons.

1.) I learned clearly how the past affects the present

everyone who is in the mental health field and others know, that ones past can and does affect their present life. We are vibrational beings, we are energy. These past events, positive and negative are stored in the body. When the events that have happened are perceived as positive, we do not have to worry because this is who we are, positive, joyful beings. But if these events are perceived as negative, they can be unactivated but stored in the body and not affecting you at this time. However, these old past events can become activated at any time and when they do, symptoms set in to let us know that something has become activated. In my case the symptoms were of depression. When my husband died an old event got activated and depression set in. When these past events become activated all kinds of distress can occur. It can range from launching a depression, to anxiety attacks, to money and relationship issues, to cancer symptoms, to anything really, both physical and emotional negative symptoms.

Now, the very good news is there is a method that is available that can easily and effectively clean out these issues at their source forever more, releasing any and all symptoms. What is it? Just click on the link below and learn about it.

2.) Nutritional

with the depletion of our soils caused by chemicals and pesticides a host of difficulties have occurred. Firstly, while these chemicals and pesticides do kill the bugs, they also destabilize the minerals and vitamins in our fruits, vegetables and herbs. This is disastrous and affects our health and well-being on all kinds of levels. Minerals and vitamins are essential to our well-being. So depression and many things can literally set in from not having the right kinds of minerals in our foods. And the good news is there is a new nutritional technology that has all of the essential minerals and vitamins placed in their foods. It is affordable, it helps clear up all kinds of health issues (of course) and it is fast to prepare.

This is so important because people name lack of time as the #1 reason for poor food choices. The fast food industry has benefited from this enormously, much to the detriment to our health. What is it? Just click on the link below to learn about it.

3.) The Law of Attraction

this is the most powerful law in our universe. It is the law above all laws. What we think about and feel about, we bring forth into our experience. In other words, what we think about expands. When we realize what powerful creators we truly are and when we understand that our emotions are our guidance system, then we can learn how to focus our thoughts and emotions into a place where we decide we want to go. Most of us think that we have no control over our thoughts and emotions. We think that they literally think us. This is because we are so practiced in our thought patterns, that we do not know how to get ourselves out of these patterns of thinking. These patterns of thinking do and feeling do cause depression and many other things. And the good news is that when we have a grasp on our ‘emotional guidance system,’ then we can deliberately begin to guide our thoughts and emotions to where we want them to be, the joyful, happy, positive beings we are at our core. And when we have control of this aspect of our lives, we are in for a very great ride indeed. Wanna know about this ‘emotional guidance system?’

More good news: just click on the link below and you can get your free copy of this emotional guidance system and learn more details about it. Any one of these ways or a combination of all of them can lead you back to the health that is your birthright. We are born to be healthy, prosperous and well. This is who we really are. So lets get started being the deliberate powerful creators we are meant and born to be.
