What Psychological Technique Can Inspire Self-motivation?

The usual most-motivating motivating factors are absent. There exists:
* No friends to be helped
* No observers to be impressed
* No sense of aiming for a goal that is meaningful and lasting.

What technique might invigorate great motivation to make things happen?

Suggestion:

Imagine that you will be shot if you don't do the thing to be done. Really try to believe it. Or try to have blind faith that supermodels will do the bouncey thing if you do the thing that has to be achieved.
